A CHARMING COTTAGE ON THE MAINE COAST

Our Little Cottage on the Rock is a place of dreams for the Havey family. Our family has roots in Maine going back generations. We found this vacation home after decades of dreaming, saving, and searching.

We love spending time with our family here throughout the year and love sharing the beauty and splendor of the coast of Maine with travelers seeking a getaway. We think you’ll love it here too.

Sip your coffee on the deck and wave hello to the lobstermen pulling up their traps. When the tides change, watch for seals riding the currents back home or out to deeper waters to fish. In the evening, watch the car headlights crawl up Cadillac Mountain across the bay while enjoying a glass of wine on the deck, or lie on your back and watch the stars from the point. Explore the beach, wander the nature trails, enjoy the native Maine gardens, or just kick back and relax with a good book.

The cottage is thirty minutes from Acadia National Park and ten minutes from Ellsworth, which is a great place for meeting all of your basic amenity needs with also a charming small town downtown.

The cottage sleeps six adults comfortably. There are two twin beds and a queen bed upstairs, plus a half bathroom. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom downstairs, with an attached full bathroom. See below for a full list of amenities.

Pets are not allowed at the cottage. Smoking is not permitted. The cottage may not be appropriate for young children due to the lofted sleeping area upstairs. Please contact us for more information.

EASY ACCESS TO ACADIA NATIONAL PARK

From the cottage, we can see Champlain, Dorr, and Cadillac Mountains on Mount Desert Island from the deck, where Acadia National Park is located. Acadia is only a thirty minute drive from the cottage, and your place for outdoor adventures in hiking, biking, swimming and exploring.

Our cottage makes a wonderful basecamp for travelers looking to explore the beauty of the Maine coast, while also offering a peaceful retreat for those who prefer a glass of wine and a good book on the deck.
